About our school

Bullimbal School provides quality education for students with intellectual disability ranged in age 3.5 to 18 years.  Individual Learning and Support Plans support student learning in a modern purpose-built facility in South Tamworth, NSW.

Bullimbal S.S.P. was formerly Tamworth Special School which was run by Challenge Foundation.  It was assumed by the N.S.W. Department of School in 1985 and name changed to Bullimbal School for Specific Purposes.

Bullimbal was formerly located in Johnston Street, North Tamworth, however, is now situated on its new site in Degance Street, where our new purpose-built school was opened on the 12th of May 2010.

Where a child is away for two or more days without explanation, an absence letter will be sent home from the Principal requesting an explanation.
